Ayurveda

Considered to be one of the oldest forms of medicinal science, Ayurveda is also known as “the science of life”. It has been taught and studied by various scholars and their disciples since old age.

Ayurveda is guided by the phrase, “Prevention is better than cure”. It encourages the maintenance of one’s health by focusing on maintaining balance in life, thoughts, lifestyle, diet and encourages the use of herbs to treat ailments.

Body, mind, and consciousness work together to maintain this balance. According to Ayurveda, the whole cosmos including the human mind, body, and spirit is an interplay of energies of five elements, namely, Air, Water, Fire, Earth, and Space. It is believed that one’s health can be maintained by understanding and balancing these five elements. Its main goal is to promote a healthy lifestyle rather than to fight diseases.
